Peter Jennings dead at 67

Not sure if this should go here or in the News/Politics board...

Words can't describe how sad I feel.

Please don't think this is said with disrespect, but he really stayed on the job until the last minute, didn't he? I knew he was ill; I didn't know how fast his cancer was spreading!

Go in Peace, Peter.

A fine professional.

So, it's now officially three for three in terms of changes in the anchor chairs of the major networks.

It's just too bad that it had to finish up this way.

Kindest thoughts to the Jennings and ABC families.

He was so awesome. I am sure going to miss him. My heart broke when I heard.

WOW I just saw this I had no clue...wonder why my dad didn't say anything or if he knew when I was over visiting. BUT I don't personally find it to be disrespect. I think that is awsome if you know you are battling something and wont let it keep ya down from doing what ya love. My choir teacher from high school was the same way. I think what killed him was the fact they made him retire since he was soo sick. His passion for the students and music I think is what kept him going.

I grew up watching Peter every night. He was definitely the reason I went into TV news. This is horrible news to wake up to :(

Sadness. I was studying to be a Broadcast journalist, so I've watched him (and all the other great anchors out there) for ages now. I actually came to the boards to post this, but it's already here. My condolences to his family (not that they'll see this here, but still). He'll def be missed.

From what I just heard on the news, he hasn't been on TV since his announcement on April 5th. This is a sad thing to hear. My prayers to his family.

The American media will never be the same. Jennings was one of the main reasons I decided to major in journalism in university.

What's odd about this is that ABC published a story about him on Thursday or Friday, saying that he was doing okay, and how he still contributed to news meetings. :(

Good Morning America is doing a 2 hour tribute this morning. You can hear the tears in Diane and Robin's voices. :(
