Crest Cross Stitch Kits

So I was thinking of making one of these for the boyfriend for his birthday because he said that he wanted "something fraternity related" (so helpful) and at least this way it could be a little more personal. The thing is that I'm not that good at cross stitching and the Lambda Chi coat of arms is pretty intricate and detailed, so I can't do it unless the fabric actually has the coat of arms screenprinted onto it already. Has anyone here made one of these cross stiches before? Was it easy? How did it turn out?

I have made several of the ZTA crest. As long as you follow the pattern, you should have no difficulty with it. Good luck!

If you can follow a graph and can count, you can do any coat of arms.

Counted Cross stitch is very easy. Time consuming, but easy.

Honestly, counted cross stitch isn't hard. As ariesrising mentioned, it is much easier than trying to work on printed cloth.

Give it a try; you may surprise yourself!

Is it so easy that even a guy can do it?

Also, what do you do after you're finished? Do you frame it? Can it be a pillow? Is it a handkerchief?

I think anyone could do it!

There are lots of different options for finishing the work. I've seen a lovely pillow with a crest on it. As for me, I am thinking of framing the cross-stitched crest and my membership certificate in the same frame. This would mean that I actually finish stitching the piece, though.

I was planning on putting it into a nice frame for him.
