2006 Conclave in Little Rock

Anyone happy with this choice?

ATLANTA--The annual convention of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity began on July 17 and will continue through Thursday, July 28.

The 2006 international conclave is expected to attract 10,000 members of the fraternity from throughout the country.

A statement released by the fraternity said that former President Bill Clinton “personally invited the fraternity” to hold its convention in Little Rock, the site of the Clinton Presidential Center.

The fraternity boasts amongst its membership a variety of business leaders, politicians and professional athletes, including Michael Jordan, Bill Cosby, Vernon Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal

Not my organization, but question: July 17 through the 28th?? Wow, is that the usual length of time for your national gatherings?

And if it was my org, I'd feel two kinda ways about it.

First, I'd probably be ticked that it wasn't in a more cosmopolitan type of city.

However, I'd get over it if the hotel rooms were cheaper because of it! We live in a rough economy, and hey, I might never get another chance to go to Littel Rock, so why not?

(I feel the same way about Louisville, KY for the next APO convention.)

Little Rock aint that special, so they must have given us a great deal to stay longer. As usual, the body will be there for the weekend.

The family bruhs who use the Clave as a vacation will be sorely dissappointed.

I hope the planning committee has something for the brothers who need to burn off the alcohol and testosterone after the meetings
