Taking my pet to be put to sleep..
 

I'm taking my pet rat (no ew comments please) to be put to sleep tomorrow. He's a really adorable rattie. He's old for a rat - 2.5 years - and I think he could live a good 2 more months or so, but it's already the beginning of the end. He can't walk anymore (hindleg paralysis) and there's a small lump by his eye which probably means a bad tumor. So I've decided to take him to the vet to be PTS tomorrow morning before he really begins to suffer. So sad.

Losing a pet is one of the most difficult things, I think. I'm sorry for your loss.

My bunny passed away last week. :(

It's always sad to have an animal PTS. However, I look at it as one of the most humane things to do if the animal is suffering, either from old age or from terminal illness.

But that doesn't really soften the blow of losing an animal.

Losing a pet is difficult. I shudder to think about ever losing my 2 babies (cats)

Aww...that's a shame. I had some pet rats when I was growing up and they can be lovely pets too. I'm sorry that you had to make a tough decision; but it sounds like you're doing it for the right reasons.
