Lsat December 2005
 

So I am going to take the LSAT this December. I am planning on using books/guides to study but I am curious to know:

1) Kaplan or Princeton Review or something else
2) Should I buy the 2005 edition since I'm taking it in 2005 or should I go ahead and get the 2006 editions since they are being published now?
3) Anyone else taking it in December?

The LSAT is the devil.

I need to take it, but I don'treally know when. I am going to be a junior, so does that mean I should get on that or wait? I am entering a program *hopefully* where I will need both my LSAT and the GRE. Awesome. I just love test taking!

I actually graduated a year ago and have been considering law school for about 2-3 years and am going to take it in December to see how I do. If your planning to go right to law school after undergrad, I would take it as a junior in college.

It doesn't really matter which one you take. I took Kaplan, and I had friends who took Princeton. What matters is how much you practice and if you do your homework or not. (I would suggest the former.)

I don't think it really matters which one you buy, it probably just has alot of practice questions. The format of the LSAT is always the same, just different questions (for the most part). But, if you take review course they will give you all the materials you need. I would save your money and buy books to help you apply for school and give you tips on your applications.

Yes, I want to go straight out of college... so what your saying is... I need to take it soon. Gross. I've been trying to put it off and not think about it, but I guess will start to.

Probably. Most people I know who have applied to law school out of college take the LSAT over the summer between their junior and senior year. So if they need to retake it they have time (most law schools pefer to know that you completed the LSAT by December) for the application process.

I would take a test cold first and see how you do. If your score at that point is over 155 or so, don't really bother with the class unless you're trying to get a 179 or something crazy. I know a lot of people who took the class and regretted spending a grand on something that didn't raise their scores that much.

I don't know about the GRE. I think you best bet since you are still in college is to consult a conselor or advisor (like your academic advisor) on your campus and see how they can assist you.

I took Kaplan and found it helpful. It's pricey but worth it if you aren't motivated to do practice tests on your own. And the LSAT is not the devil...THE BAR IS THE DEVIL-I take it this week...:eek:

I took the Kaplan class. I think it helped a lot. From the first practice test to my actual score it went up by like 13 points. I'd reccommend it.

I was just at the Kaplan center today. I plan to enroll in the courses that begin on Aug. 18th. I'll be taking the October 1st LSAT so hopefully its beneficial. I spoke with my soror who is an Attorney and she highly recommended that I take the classes. Then again, many others said that the classes didn't help them. I guess it all depends of the person, but I'll just see for myself!
