Step Dance

Hello everybody,
I am a member of a sorority and I am really interested in starting a step dance group. The only thing is that I have no idea what the requirements are. I went to a conference for the first time and I was amazed by all the wonderful dances. My sisters and I have thought about it and have come to a conclusion that we want to go ahead and start a step dance. If anyone could please help me with any of the basics! Any information will be greatly appreciated! Thank you

For the sake of politeness, I will assume you are talking about the dancing tradition called "step" that was started in Chicago (a la R Kelly's Step in the Name of Love). I don't know where you would have to go to find out more information about that.

Good luck.

Stepping?

Everyone is replying to you with info about stepping like the two step done with a partner. However because you say a "stepping group" it tells me thats not what you mean. I could be wrong but are you refering to "stepping" that is commonly performed by BGLO's (Black Greek Letter Orgs) ? Where your sorority would be basically making beats and sounds with your feet and hands?
