Conclave '05
Anyone at Conclave that can give some reports? Hope all is going well for the Fraternity.
As a side note, I got a copy of the Caduceus today...but I don't remember giving HQ my address down here except to register for Brother Services Online....I guess they are really on top of things, or just want my alumni dues :D |
To add to docetboy's comments, does anyone know/remember who will compose the new SEC. I know Pops will be WGM, with Philip Bell as WGP and Jeff Crow as WGT, but I forgot who will fill WGS and WGMC. I believe it will be Bill Betz and Jody Bailey, but I could be wrong.
Hope everyone who attended had a great time and learned a lot while they were there. Docetboy: I believe that when you register for Brother's Services, they can update your address for all fraternity services. The same thing happened to me when I graduated, as well as when I moved recently. AEKDB Collin |
It looks like Brother Betz was indeed elected WGMC. There seems to be a trend the past couple of SEC's that at least one of the new members has previously served in another capacity. Brother McClamroch was WGT before he was elected WGMC(followed by WGP and now WGM) and I believe Brother Webb served a number of years ago as WGMC.

I have yet to get a caduceus and I have been a brother since November of 04.

Here's a site that has the old copies of The Caduceus: http://www.kappasigma.org/pubCaduceus.php Are you sure it hasn't been delivered to your home address? When I was initiated, I gave my parents address on my initiation form, so all Kappa Sigma mail was delivered there before I graduated. You could also call HQ directly at 434-295-3193. They've always been extremely nice in my dealings with them and respond to requests quickly. AEKDB Collin |
So anyone go? Good stories, etc.?
I saw some of the pics on the Kappasigma.org site and it looked like a good time. |
Conclave in Vegas
Conclave in Vegas was the best time of my life. I especially enjoyed the program that was put on by PWGS Col. Ronald J. "Spider" Webb and the other Kappa Sigmas about life in the POW camps. That was especially powerful. I also enjoyed the moment when they recognized Executive Director Mic Wilson and presented him with a "nice set of wheels" for his 25 years of service to the Order. Other great moments included: the SEC posing as Elvis impersonaters at the introduction of Conclave and of course, the Welcome Reception at Margaritaville. I guess it goes to show the other fraternities that Kappa Sigma really knows how to put together a convention. I just can't wait to see what kind of numbers we put up this year because I feel it will be another monster year for Kappa Sigma.

Thanks for the update; glad to hear it lived up to past Conclaves. AEKDB |
I fished someone from Missouri out of the Bilagio fountain. Good times.

Conclave
Aside from days of a huuge marketing pitch to get thousands and thousands of new pledges, sealed with a nice little "AEKDB" at the end of each approach, yea, Vegas was a great time. I don't know what I would have done if I couldn't wrap up my frustration with all of my undergraduate brothers at the local casinos and bars. Vegas = fun. Trying to be sold on the idea that bigger is better = not my idea of Jackson's Dream.
