The good wife's guide
My grandmother e-mailed this to my sister and me as an example of what was out there to help you with your marriage when SHE was our age and had married our grandfather! It's actually produced some really interesting and productive conversations between my fiance and me, so I thought I'd share and see what everyone else thinks about it...

Ah, the good old days.

yep i hear you on that lauren. my grandma taught my mom the same way i.e - you stay in a marriage no matter what. if he beats you, you take it etc. pretty crazy thinking i believe. luckily my mom never paid much attention on that matter to my grandma (and my dad is really nice too).

I remember this article from a media class I took in the 90s. My teacher was this crazy almost radical feminist who was totally against doing the SAHM thing. Interestingly, she's now a SAHM!

There was a discussion a few years ago in the D&R forum about this article. aephi alum changed the rules to fit the modern woman's guide which had me laughing. I'm quoting her post because it's so funny:

I like the idea of it going both ways. I have NO problem catering to a man if it is reciprocated.

"be a little more gay and a little more interesting for him."
Yep, being gay would certainly make the marriage more interesting |

Huh. Apparantly, I'm the crappiest housewife ever. Oh well, I'm guessing he still loves me, otherwise he would have been long gone a while ago.
Wait! I do know how to make pie. From scratch even. My lone saving grace. mmmmmm......... pie |
