Traveling for Work (part 2)
 

Last year I traveled to Bangalore, India twice to provide floor support for some of our call centers there (that support the US.) This year I'll be headed to Dusseldorf, Germany (September) for our call center that supports our Austrian customers & then Dublin, Ireland (October) for our call center that supports our French customers. Even a trip back to Bangalore is possible in November (since we have a call center there that supports customers from the United Kingdom) but I won't know if I'm going there until the end of October.

So, I know I've posted something similar this before, but how many of you travel for work & where have you been?

I spent 3 months in Jordan, 8 months in Iraq and 1 month in Kuwait for the US army... Does that count?

We travelled pretty extensively with my dad's job when I was younger. One of the perks is that his company paid for the hotels so all we had to pay was the flight. My mom and I got to sightsee and dad went to meetings. We usually tacked on a few extra days at the end and travelled as a family...

I only travel to Atlanta, Oklahoma City and Omaha. :(

That definitely counts. What did you think of Jordan? I've been obsessed with visiting the Middle East (of course not lately) & I fear I won't ever get to go.

And I love traveling with a company, they actually pay for everything (including flight, hotel, & food) & I end up saving a lot of money! :D

Even if my job weren't sending me overseas I'd still be excited to travel anywhere! (As long as they're paying for it!) :D

It is odd that you are talking about this because just yesterday I was telling a friend that I missed traveling for work. I got laid off last year so I don't get to travel on someone else's dime any more.

Before I worked for ABC I had never travelled much at all but in the 3 1/2 years I was there I went to:

Jordan was pretty, didn't get to travel too much there though as the "war" was still going on. Kuwait was really nice too. Kuwait City is awesome has really good mom and pop style restaurants and the shopping was to die for, just a pity we had to watch our backs so much. The locals are so friendly though, we got to go to their houses and they fed us and paid for hotels for us. A great experience. One definate plus of my job (finance) is that we got to go out on the economy...

I just found out that I'm leaving for Orleans, France on August 6, which is ironically enough the same day I move into my new apartment. Maybe if our budget gets cut so will I & then I can move into my apartment stress free. I'm trying to decide whether I should have my water, cable, & electric turned on before or after I move in...?

I travel every other week - all over the US. Compared to y'alls traveling, mine seems rather piddly. :)
