Girls, I'm going to Texas!

You mean like on vacay?

No, like for law school! I got accepted to South Texas College of Law's spring 2006 class and will be moving to Houston at the end of this year. So if any KD's from Texas have any info about the area, I'd appreciate it!

Danielle H., Esq., any words of wisdom for me?!

Lol, don't do it! Hehe, not a good question to ask me 3 weeks to the day before the bar.

Congrats! That's interesting that you're starting in the spring, I didn't know any law schools did that. Probably make it a bit easier for you for job searching since you'll be graduating at a different time of year. Best advice I can give you: buy Glannon's Examples and Explanations for Civil Procedure. I'm not partial to many outlines/hornbooks, etc, but Examples and Explanations are the best series, and the Civ Pro is excellent. Everyone I know owned a copy.

Cross your fingers for me on the job area! I got a call last week about a potential job, and the attorney (who was my HS mock trial coach) is supposed to call me when he gets back from a business trip. I'm on pins and needles, I swear that this is worse than waiting for a guy to call! lol.

Congratulations on being accepted! Hooray!

Houston is a great city--I almost went to Rice for graduate school, but changed my mind.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Congratulations! As a former resident of East Texas (never Houston, though, but up near Tyler), all I can say is that it's going to be humid. Houston's always been worse about that than...well, pretty much anywhere else. It's sticky as all heck. So, bring plenty of hair spray/gel/whatever it'll take to tame your hair and lots of deodorant and cool clothes. Sticky gets icky.

But aside from that, hey, it's Texas--folks are nice, food is nice (I recommend the Mexican/Tex-Mex and the barbecue--nowhere else is any good after you've had that food in Texas!) and well, I love my state. Good luck in law school!
