Neighbor problem
I rent a house roughly one block from my University where I am a Graduate student. We use this house for mixers. The entire street is composed of students from the University except for one house in which an old man, his sister and a man in a wheel chair live.
The old man is nosey, bossy, and thinks he can tell anyone on the block what to do. Some students have attempted to be friends with him, but he is also a homosexual, and has indecently exposed himself to people, tried to give people back rubs, and otherwise has annoyed and pissed off everyone. The area is very social, but should you have more then five people over, he will call the police (who usually come and see that theres no real disturbance and leave). He calls not because of any disturbance, but to just be an annoying asshole. He came into my back yard the other day like he owns the place, then asks me if he can talk to me. He proceeds to tell me how I should take out my garbage (eventhough I am the cleanest person on the block). He also talks about how he wants to keep the alley and streets very clean in our area. Then he hits on me and trys to give me a back rub. Any Ideas of solutions? I simply want the dude to stop calling the cops.... there are no problems... the cops don't care and have better things to do, he's just wasting their time. |
Start calling the police on him, arent they loud too?

Put up a fence.

call Channel 11, dude. For real. Especially if he's walking around with his weiner hanging out - they'll be all over that!

We have a big fence.
They are sometimes a loud as the neighbor tells me he abuses his sister. Never music though. Calling channel 11 is a great idea. |
If he's abusing his sister then you should call the cops anyway, regardless if he's an asshole or not! I would be careful about getting the news involved though...the media never paints a good picture of Greeks. Good luck, wish there was an easy solution to this problem!

In all seriousness, it sounds like a good Social Worker intervention is in order :D. Are there any programs in your area that work with senior citizens? I know in NYC we often get Adult Protective Services involved in situations that are similar to this. I have some interesting stories about 75-year-old men. In particular the one who I recently had to hospitalize who tried to grab my boobs and again tried to look down my shirt when I visited him on the inpatient psych unit yesterday:eek:    My co-workers call him my "boyfriend" now LOL.
