Sorority sisters renew bonds
Here's an article I saw last week in my local paper. First the headline struck me, and then it was surprising that they were talking about Chi Omega (since they do not have a chapter at either local universities, or in Canada at all, I think). But reading the story clears that up.
Anyway, I thought it was a nice story and I like their idea about mailing each other letters in one envelope. Sorry, I only have a flatbed scanner so the picture was chopped and a bit of the text too. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...l/f7b94490.jpg |
Interesting tidbit: Chi O was indeed in Canada, but way back in 1899-1900 at Hellmuth Women's College in London, Ontario. It is Chi O's old Phi chapter.
http://www.canadiangreeks.com/directory/chio.html I don't think Hellmuth was ever affiliated with Western. The women's college affiliated with the university is Brescia and it is Roman Catholic. Hellmuth was probably Anglican. |
a very nice, positive story

How touching! It goes to show that sisterhood really does last a lifetime.

Awesome story!!! I know Sigma Kappa has a eurpoean alumane chapter which has members in many many countries in europe, australia, asia, etc..... its great for undergrad and alums who study abroad or live in another country to still have sisterhood!!!
I know they have an annual meeting in a country and they all visit and keep in touch during the year as well as support one of our collegiate chapters in the states. They do so much work with so little face-to face time its amazing and shows how sisterhood can transend even oceans :) Just wanted to share,,,, |
