How far over the speed limit were you going when the local gendarmerie (or whatever law enforcement agency) bagged you?

You can always ask, but there's no guarantee the court might grant you a break if you didn't complete the traffic school in the alloted time.

Your insurance rates will probably go up some, but that depends on how fast you were going. That increase will probaby occur when you renew your policy.

Don't know if this will help but my boss got a speeding ticket. He didn't go to traffic school, but instead went to court to claim that he wasn't speeding. (He was flagged for going 70ish in a 65 mph  ) The cop that got him never showed up so he got off.

Now if you were going 90 on the freeway, I don't know if I can help you. But if it was a minor speeding, see if you can just go to court. Most likely the court date will be set 3 months from now and it's enough to come up with some BS response and long enough for the cop to not remember your face at all.

I'm not advocating this... but I'm just telling you what my boss did to get out of it.

Sorry, can't help you, I got pulled over for speeding (it was a year ago today actually...happy 4th!), but never actually got the ticket.

When you go down to plead your case, open your blouse a bit...maybe you'll have the same luck I did .

I'm not from CA, but one of my sisters has been there for quite a few years. She got stopped for speeding, and got a ticket. When she got to court, she used a "keeping up with the flow of traffic" defense, and it worked.

Good luck!

Just call them (or go in) and see what you can do. I just dealt with a speeding ticket from Santa Clara county where I had missed my traffic school date, I paid 24 bucks, and they gave me a 60 day extension. I don't think you should have a problem as long as you're willing to give them more money =)
