I love it. Very useful for trip planning as well! We used it recently to see just how close our hotel was to Disneyland.
It's a little freaky to see your home all up close and personal, but in general it's a fun toy. |
This is the greatest thing EVER! I just downloaded it and am going to use in for my geography lessons this week. (You all are lifesavers, you have NO idea!!)
|
Ok. I d/l'ed. I closed it when I was done, then I went to reopen it. It froze. I've tried closing it and it won't close. I did ctrl+alt+del like 5 times and it still won't close the damn thing.
Ok tried to download it at home and it still freezes, but at least I can ctrl+alt+del it. WTF? |
Reperted in todays News Paper, It can be used as a terroristic tool to hone in on Cites for attacks.
Came from India, go figure!:( |
Bumping this thread b/c I just found it and think it is amazing! FYI, map a couple places you know, work, home and see if it is right. For both my current house, last house and mom's house, it is 3-5 houses off but still on right side of street. I called my mom and asked told what color car was parked in front of her house and she freaked! FYI, it is somewhat time delayed - couple hours maybe (anybody know?)

It's more than a couple hours time delayed. The pic of my neighborhood is from a couple summers ago, when the neighbors were doing their roof.
I alternate between "This is really cool" and "This could be really scary". I mean, if a stalker type was checking things out, they could figure out which bush to hide behind, which entrance they could hide by, how they could get away quickly, etc. Kinda scary if used for the wrong purposes. |
The photos are about 2 years old. I use it sometimes at work. :)

How is this different from Google maps satellite view?

My yopunger brother just showed me this recently and thought that was the coolest thing to zoom in on any address you imput

Oh yeah, the photos are definitely more than a couple years old. My old neighborhood has had lots of development in the last few years & none of it is there. |
