150 years of Friendship, Justice and Learning
150 years ago today, the seven Founders of Sigma Chi Fraternity - Benjamin Piatt Runkle (age 18), Thomas Cowan Bell (23), William Lewis Lockwood (18), Isaac M. Jordan (20), Daniel William Cooper (25), Franklin Howard Scobey (18), and James Parks Caldwell (14) - announced the Fraternity's establishment by wearing their badges for the first time in public on Commencement Day at Miami University, June 28, 1855.
