Looking for ways to stay involved

Is there any way that an alumnae sister can help out with her chapter besides giving money? I really do not have a lot of money (no job) but I would still like to help out.

Should I write a letter to the chapter explaining that I would like to help out or is that a bad idea.

I know that it is summer break right now so I have time to think about everything.

Or if you know any other ways that alumnae can stay involved please write in.

Thanks

Fill out a volunteer interest form on the national website. Also just keep in contact with your chapter and know what's going on and help out where you can. You can also join an alumnae chpater, or organize one. :)

Yeah the volunteer interest form is a good idea. Also, is the advisory board full already? You could join that if there's an opening.

PM me your email and I'll send you the latest JPL (which is a little old now) and I'll send you the next one that comes out too.

I've filled out the volunteer sheet and I'm part of the marketing and web committee, I was kind of looking for some tips or suggestions on how I could be a helpful alum for my chapter (that are cost effective).

Sorry for any confusion.

Thank you so much for answering.

yeah, i understood, it's just things get limited when you become alum - it's not always good for alum to be too involved (not that you mean this).

I think finding an opening on the advisory board is still a good idea. ( i think your chapter could still use many, like judicial board, risk management, fundraising, ritual, administrative - basically there could be one for every officer position).
Also, maybe discuss with archon and/or alumnae chairperson ideas for events open to alum. you could, as you first suggested, write to the archon and let her know that you're available if they ever need help setting up for recruitment or an extra hand at a philanthropy event.

If you are interested in helping in the MI area you can contact rcd10@phisigmasigma.org (that being Julie Westenfeld) and she might be able to help you also! Good lunck

Hope to see some of you at LTS!
