Pissed off at college students

I left the office today to run to the p.o. and what do I see?? 4 SUVs of college students with surfboards going to the beach!! I hate being an adult and having to work during the summer. I oughtta be in Costa Rica right now surfing with friends. Instead, I'm working in corporate america while it's 90 degrees out right now with pure sunshine.

Anyone else miss college?

I don't just miss college-- I even miss high school--- I miss that whole point in my life when I lived to do whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. No worries, no responsibilities. Life was so easy then. Too bad I did not realize it.

And now, at 31, I am sitting in an office writing a boring report. While I write my mind wanders and I think how great it would be to be floating around the pool today.

Being an responsible adult sucks ass!

i miss the parties. the drunken fights and contests.

in daytona beach it was sprnig break every day.

the beach saw me more than class saw me.

How would you like it if you didn't have much fun in high school and only somewhat in college?

winnieb 06-08-2005 11:59 AM

Then being stuck in an office wouldn't be so bad--- you wouldn't know anything else!

Did you not have fun in college?

Could've been better, could've been worse...

I went to a mostly commuter school. It's fastly evolving to a residentual school, but not fast enough, lol.

I had fun in college, but I'm even happier with my life now. Of course, if I didn't enjoy my job, I'd probably feel differently.

I know teachers don't make anywhere near as much as what y'all are doing, but I'll be sure and send you postcards from my vacations every summer... ;)

Not me. I had an open tab on dad's credit card, got a lot more vacation time and good sex, was std free and got to sleep in whenever I felt like it. I also went out to clubs ALL the time. *sigh* I miss those carefree days.

Now, my week goes like this......I work 9am-5pm, go home, eat and then go work out. By the time I'm done I shower and I'm in bed by 11pm unless my teenie bopper wants to go out.

Its so routine. :o My weekends are my only escape.

Welcome to the real world.

Those kids on surf boards (why am I calling them kids...I'm not that old...I still feel like a kids sometimes) will get there taste of the real world soon enough. Perhaps use that as some consolation.

I remember the first few years after college, all of a sudden 4th of July would be here and it would hit me that it was actually summer. Without anything to mark the beginning of summer (ie. getting out of school) I totally lost track of the months! Now that I have kids, I kick myself every June for not having gone into education. $250 a week in day care all summer long really really hurts. It totally stinks to have no money all summer, when there are so many fun but expensive things to do. I've spent the last month stocking up on groceries in preparation.

Dee :(
