Coke made with real sugar
Is awesome stuff :)
In SA, you can find Mexican Coke bottle (real glass bottles, 500ml) where they still use real sugar instead of High-Fructose Corn Syrup. Great stuff. |
You can get that in Mexican grocery stores here and it rocks.
Coke tastes better out of a real glass bottle! |
In South AFrica, they still have the bottles. Tasted much much better than the cans. Unfortunately, it's very very hard to find Pepsi here.
|
In Europe it's still all about the .25 cl worth of a glass bottle of coke. Don't expect to get any ice though.
I'm really disappointed that Spain does not have Schwepps Bitter Lemon. It's the most delicious thing ever. Same company that makes the famous tonic water-anyone ever tried it? |

Kid, you gotta get off base more. Every little family owned gas station on the southside carries that stuff. Its a little more expensive, but worth it. Its a newer thing. Started about 5 years ago or so. For exactly that reason. |
Has anybody been to The World of Coke in Atlanta? You can get all these foreign varieties of Coke free during the tour! Some are fabulous and yeccchh-- some are nauseating!

I've been to the World of Coke in Atlanta! Awesome place! I have to agree you can taste some really good Cokes and some majorly icky ones that make you cringe! Some are very bitter and others are extremely flat tasting!
|
When my husband took his class to World of Coke, there was some variety of Coke called Beverly that everyone was gagging on. Everyone liked the tangerine, plum, and macadamia flavors.
|
I've been to the World of Coke when it was open in Las Vegas. I agree, Beverly was nasty. I did like the tangerine and peach flavors, and there was a honey-lemon variety (from Israel?) I really liked as well.
There are some wonderful flavors of Fanta that I got in London that I wish were available here! |

it still blows my mind that people say pop instead of soda. maybe cos i've never actually heard anyone say it out loud-what areas of the States do people say soda and what areas do they say pop at?
people in my study abroad group here in Spain have noticed the same thing though-they say they can't drink beer out of a can anymore cos it doesn't taste the same as out of a bottle! |
mom's side of the family is from Colorado, and grandma always uses the term pop---but, she did grow up in Brooklyn
Dad grew up in upperstate NY near Buffalo and used the term soda my parents always used the term soda here in the South there's the ongoing "I'll have a coke" Okay, what flavor coke do you want? etc etc And DH loves sodas out of a glass bottle..always tastes better. ONe of my favorite memories growing up was going on a sunday ride with my parents, and getting a cold bottle of soda out of the machine--insert 10 cents and pull it out---come to think of it, in Arkansas, where we were stationed, they used the term pop a lot. |
you guys are making me thirsty :p

Question (and mini hijack):
Does Tahiti Treat still exist? Does Shasta still exist? And.....does TAB cola still exist? I was just wondering...please advise if you know. I was merely curious. I remember drinking Shasta when I was little. |
