Hey Soror,

I just noticed that you are in Paterson. Our grad chapter is located in Paterson as well. You most likely be disappointed if you attend the Greekfest at Jones Beach. The weird thing is hardly any greek go!! I have attended the Philly Greekfest in 2003 and had a decent time despite it was better in past years. It is going to be better this year because the top winning prize is $4000!! You may want to attend this event instead. Go to www.phillygreek.com for more information. If you have any questions you can email me at cammyusername@aol.com.

Sisterly,

I'm not from Paterson but I went to school at William Paterson University just up the street. I don't see too many people from that area on GreekChat so I always take some time to shout them out when I do. As for Jones Beach, you might want to take Cammy's advice- I think it's now geared towards the oversexed men whether they are greek or not. I haven't been to the Philly Greek in a minute but I was afraid it was heading down that same path. The last time I went which was either 2000 or 2001 I wasn't even aware it was still geared towards greeks until I went to the step show. The majority of the people I saw there probably couldn't even tell you where a college is located let alone attended one.

jones beach is hardly greek. i went one time in my years of being a Delta and walked away shoeless.

it's very unorganized and is on the same note as Atlanta's Freaknic.

By the way, what ever happened to Freaknic?

I heard they had too many incidents of the sexual nature so they decided to do away with it (which was probably for the best).

I tell you it is really a small world. Our grad chapter sponsors the Zeta undergraduate chapter in William Paterson U. That is so good.

Jones Beach is not the same at all. I remember when it was actually a Greekfest. Those were the days.
