Alpha License Plate in NC

Go to the NC State Government web site www.ncga.state.nc.us/homepage.pl Under bill look-up put in HB85. This is the bill that was introduced by Bro. Larry Womble to have a state license plate issued in the name of Alpha Phi Alpha. Please read the text version. Proceeds from the purchase of the tag will go to the ANCA Education Foundation for Scholarship for black males in North Carolina. All we need to do now is make sure that we have 300 applications in the state. I am sure we will all support this since it has been such a long time coming.

Do these plates exist in other states? I was wondering about trying to get one in Alabama.

Yes, however the general assembly in each state gives approval of personalized tags.

wow! so how do we get these apps filled out and sent in. i remember signing something like this before a while back. it LOOKS like it passed on the 7th of July. whats going on now.

if the folk in the general assembly go home this week, the tags should be available in the next few months. i want tag number "06!"

Hey, Alphas of NC - congrats on the license plate! Please be on notice that your ability to personalize the plate is limited b/c having the shield on it takes up several charactes. You will be limited to 4 or 5 characters to personalize your plate.;)
