Computer problems with the new MSN Messenger 7.0 HELP!!

When I was logging into MSN Messenger a couple of days ago it told me that I would have to upgrade to the new 7.0 version from the 6.2 version in order to continue to connect. I upgraded and a day later I was having issues with it. I would click on my mail notification window and nothing would happen. It wouldn't connect to IE and open up my mail like it should.

I did all sorts of stuff yesterday, including unistalling and reinstalling, and it was working fine.....until right now. I clicked on my mail notification and IE opens up with my mail. I clicked on one of the emails and I get one of those Windows "user name" and "password" pop-ups. The "user name" was an IP address. I ran it on an IP locator site and it registers to www.hotmail.com in California.

Does anybody know what the heck is going on? I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times yesterday, ran two spyware checks (one purchased and one free), defragmented (it had been a while), and checked my antivirus and firewall. Everything is okay.

I would stick with the 6.2 that I have been happy with, but it apparently won't allow me to use MSN Messenger without upgrading.

If anyone could help, I appreciate it.

I HATE THIS!!!

I am having a similar problem. I upgraded to MSN Messenger 7.5 and now it won't let me log in. :(

Guess I am of the old school! Still use a lot of older stuff as hate to upgrade simply for this reason. It seems that the new S**t has many Problems in them!

New dont always = better!
