Questions for the women who Tan

OK, here's my deal. I just shaved my legs in an attempt to make them darker because my friends who do it say that their legs got tanner quicker when they shaved them, same goes for the arms (i already do that, though). Unfortunately, last weekend. I was laying out on the beach the whole day and eveyrthing got sun/tanned/burnt except my freaking legs!!! Anything I can do to help speed up the process? Lotion advice? Sunning advice?

Right now it's to the point where I can't go lay out to get my legs tanned because the rest of my body can't take anymore laying out for a couple of days.

Check local tanning salons- there are a few around here that have "leg tanners". You sit in a chair and stick your legs in the machine.
I don't think shaving your legs (hahahahaha) will help you tan. Go to the Body Shop and get some sugar scrub and seriously start exfoliating your legs, that will help sluff off dead / dry skin and you will tan faster. Also check with a local spa, they have body polishing they can do that helps prep you for tanning too.
Try to get the body polishing or exfoliating done, then hit the leg tanner (if you can find one) immediately afterwards.
Good luck!

You mean the women's store in the mall?

winnieb 05-27-2005 11:04 AM

Yes-- I was tired of having the alpha-gam part in my name, so John changed it for me!!

And yes I mean the smaller store in the mall. Bath and Body works also has a line out called "true blue spa". It includes some good scrubs.

Oh and make sure to mosturize well and very frequently, the more moisture in your skin, the better you tan. But check those ingridients to make sure there is no hidden sunscreen.

Nobody's legs ever get as dark as their arms & face naturally. Your legs don't get anywhere near the year-round sun exposure that your other parts do.

Yea, but the guys in muscle & fitness and people in magazines along with models have their legs as dark as their arms and faces. There has to be a way to get your legs just as dark as your arms.

Paris Hilton's legs are darker than her arms.

Probably because Paris Hilton's second home is in the Mystic Spray Tanning salon....

Yea, I used to get that done all the time. I got tired of throwing down 30$ a week on that crap. Thats a 120$ a month on tanning crapp.

Please note the use of the word "naturally". I highly doubt that the pretty men or Paris Hilton have naturally dark legs!

Its does take time to get a deep, even tan.
Just take care of your skin and keep it well conditioned. My arms and legs are the same color right now, and I am pretty dark considering I am in Missouri and work in an office all day long-- but I have been tanning regularly for a couple of months now. It takes time for the most part. But doing the other things I mentioned will make your skin more "tannable"!

I hear that Bobby is really really ridiculously good looking, and he is Samoan, so he probably has really dark tan legs. Craig, I think you've just figured out the worst part about being white.

if you think your legs needs to play catch up, you're gonna have to self tan them probably. If you want the effect and look of mystic, L'oreal Sublime Bronze Any Angle Self Tanning spray is awesome, you can get it pretty much anywhere, and it's much cheaper than mystic.

Hahahaha...don't lie, you know you saw Bobby when he was in Florida. :D

I have found that Neutregena self-tanning lotion works well--it continues to get darker the more often you use it. It seems to work best on my legs, so maybe that would help you.
