Application Forgery
I recently attended a sorority rush. Exact explanations were given on how to properly complete the application package. We were told "if you don't secure letters of recommendation from X, Y and Z then you will be ineligible...no excuses." Yet, a few days later I run into a gril who I KNOW has been pre-pledging and I asked her if she has turned in her app yet. She replies, "Well, I couldn't get a letter from X but they told me not to worry about it...they will work something out."
What do you all think about this? |
What? I am totally lost, can someone explain the application process and securing letters of recommindation to me? Thanks!
|
In most NPHC orgs, you have to submit letters of recommendation. It could be one or more. This is usually made clear after someone attends a rush. If I am wrong it is not because I am not greek but because I can only truthfully speak for my org. But as far as my experience goes the above metioned is the case.
|
How in the hell are people who are doing illegal activities talking about this so openly? Were y'all in confidence, are you friends? Because the org of your choice is potentially in jeopardy.
Is it me, or are people trippin AND slippin? |
This is sad! Lucky You, you really shouldn't say anymore on this subject. If I have overstepped my boundries, let me know, Greeks. I just felt that this was kinda out there.

I agree with Salience, how do you know someone has been pre-pledging? But on the real, your girl might be the one getting played. She might have let the wrong people know she was interested and they took advantage of her. I have known many young folks, male and female, who allowed themselves to be degraded and STILL didn't make line. Don't worry about other people and just make sure your own business is in order!

In order to join AKA on the undergraduate level, I thought that letters or reccommendation weren't required?? Pls clarify.
|
I honestly think that @@@@.. should ask an AKA. If I am not mistaken that is another one of those things that people don't want openly discussesd

I think someone already stated to worry about you. Don't let anyone mess it up for you. What's done in the dark will most definitely come to the light. ------------------ Director #2 LMAC Spr 99 |
I'm not sure about what all you are talking about, but my organization has strict rules on getting recommendations and verifying that they are real. But, how do your schools make sure that the girls that are signing up have the credentials to even rush? How do you make sure that they have the grades to rush, at schools that are less strict on admissions-like those maybe on academic probation? They could get the recs, but those people may not know that they really don't have the grades to go through.
