Our forum has been pretty quiet lately. Where have you all been?

I was thinking the same thing myself... ;). I've been on the boards everyday, but haven't really had anything to report regarding DPhiE. I guess, locally, I am now a director for VAPA (Vancouver Alumnae Panhellenic Association). And I am currently being transitioned into the new chapter management system - going from RC to COS...

Hey!! Good to hear from you :) I wish I had more time to volunteer but right now, unfortunately, DPhiE has gotta take a backseat to work.

I'm here, but I have been having eye and vision problems since last Monday so I have had to limit my online time as well as my socializing time. Unfortunately, the doctor predicted this problem will take months to cure so I will be MIA for a while.

I hope all is well with the rest of the Deephers. :)

Thanks Allison. I saw 3 doctors yesterday. I'm not going blind which was my main concern. I might have to increase my prescription when all of this is over which isn't all that bad.

I have a weird viral infection in the corneas of both eyes so I need to take 2 anti-viral pills a day and use anti-viral drops 8 times a day in each eye for a month. My right eye has some inflammation and an additional infection so I need to keep that pupil dilated and use other drops. The doctors said it is probably a virus that has been dormant in me for years, but the heat and allergies of the last few weeks gave this virus an opportunity to come out.

Anyway, the residents at the eye hospital were very excited to see me because they never get to see this condition. It was funny because the residents and the head doctor were talking to each other using these medical terms and all I kept saying was "Translation, please." Then one of the residents stuck his head in to see 'the patient' like I was a specimen. It was a very exciting day. I'll keep you updated. I hope I didn't gross you out too much.

ETA: I am not in any pain. I'm feeling better since I started this new medicine yesterday. The doctors said that I would notice an improvement immediately, and I have.

Hi Allison! Thanks for asking. I'm okay. My right pupil is dilated so seeing is weird. I went to the eye hospital again today and saw four doctors. They took pictures of my eyes which they will email to me. I go back next Tuesday so they can take more pictures and compare them to see what progress I have made. Until then, I will continue to take the pills and drops. The head corneal doctor told me that it could take weeks or even months to resolve this condition. I might lose some vision in my right eye, but we're trying to avoid that. They said that I am a really good patient which is very important with this condition.

I am taking a break from planning stuff for our AA for the summer. Everyone's away, or going through personal stuff, I think it is a good idea to wait until late August/early Sept to plan anything again. If anyone is in the NYC area though and wants to get together, let me know! I still will be around all summer!

I'm back :) I've been away because of working like a dog, doing lots of volunteer stuff, and the like. I peek in on occassion to make sure things are on the up and up, but it's been hectic. Hope you're all doing well and preparing for Fall Recruitment.

How's everyone doing? I can't believe Thanksgiving has passed and it is almost the DECEMBER holiday season. Time has flown lately! I haven't been around much lately. I started an awesome new job in October. The boyfriend also moved in with me. I've had a lot of changes!

Just wondering if any of you were from the Beta Zeta Chapter that was at the University of Michigan-Flint? I was just wondering happened to them? :(
