Pass the gavel - Roses & Thorns
 

Our chapter has used this in the past (Roses & Thorns) Pass the gavel is basically the same thing. Has it REALLY helped your chapter? We haven't done it in years, but last semester we had like a "bitch session" cause the chapter was literally going crazy with each other :mad:

yeah, that didn't really help @ all I mean sisters kept saying the SAME things... it really didn't do anything. It got stuff off people's chest, but that's about it....

Do a Roses and Thorns... then ask what people think the underlying problems are and what could be done to FIX the problems. That way action is taking place not just bitching.

After LTS or something, our current Archon had a mini retreat where we went through SWOT -- Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunties and Threats. This was great brainstorming for making the chapter stronger and it allowed us to vent issues we may have had. Make sure there are one or two people (Archon/adviser) to moderate the session and don't let it get out of control. Oh, and you place large pieces of paper or use white boards with each letter.

My chapter has also done a SWOT analysis it does take a while though, so set apart some time.
