Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi killed

.

I heard on the radio about an accident in Richmond...now it adds up :(

Sad news. I know it has affected the Alpha Phi chapter because some of the members new both people.

My thoughts are with the friends and families involved :(

My thoughts & prayers go out to both Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi members at UBC and their families.

That's terrible. I saw it on the front page of THE PROVINCE this morning.

How perfectly horrible for all involved. My deepest condolences to the families of Karen Furstrand and George Bush, and to her Alpha Delta Pi sisters and his Sigma Chi brothers.

How awful. Thoughts and prayers to their families, friends, ADPi sisters and Sigma Chi brothers, and the UBC Greek family.

That is so sad. Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.

I was shocked and sad when I heard about this. I heard about the accident earlier on today, but only just found out this evening that the young man and woman who died were members of Sigma Chi and ADPi.

This hits close to home as my fiance is an alum of UBC's Sigma Chi chapter and my brother is an active member and was friends with George Bush - they used to work on making films together. I just talked to my brother and he is very stunned right now... This is such a horrible, and sad event.

It's tragic.....my thoughts and prayers going out to all involved.

Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.

The UBC Greek Community was certainly shocked, this is a tragic lost. George and Karen were well-known and well liked by everyone, they brought sunshine into the lives of all who knew them.

I will make sure Alpha Delta Pi and Sigma Chi know that our international brothers and sisters are thinking of them, they will be very thankful I know.

I'm hoping someone out there could give me some advice on what I can do as Panhellenic President to further support the two chapters, and everyone else in the Greek System so affected (we are a very tight-knit community, and have not suffered such a loss in as long as anyone can remember).

I'd appreciate any advice you may have, and once again, thank you very much for your support in this time.

My sympathies to all involved - you will all be in our thoughts & prayers.

I think an all-Greek candlelighting one night would be very beautiful and a fitting tribute to two members of a close-knit community.

I also think that forming a scholarship in their names would be an excellent idea. The money could go to the Greek Man & Woman of the Year, best for grades, etc. It is a great way to keep the memory alive of people who were such strong contributors to the Greek system.
