Remote Control Car Starters

I was wondering...does anyone have a remote control starter? And, have you had any problems with it?

I have 2004 car, brand new at the time, and I am very hesitant to put the car starter on it, but the winter in Michigan is not nice! And I can get an excellent deal on one, just trying to think in advance before they become hard to come by again! I know that many people that I work with have one and they all say that it is "ok," so I was wondering about your experience with a starter.

My grandfather owns a shop that sells car stereo's and stuff like that. He has installed several remote starters that have come back with problems.

I suggest you look 'em up on consumer reports and do some more research on the net.

We gave my mom one a few years ago as a birthday present because she has emphysema and needs the car warmed up or cooled off before she can get in it. She loved it and we had no problems with it. I've been considering it myself, but I'm hoping to get a new car soon so I don't want to spend the cashola to put it in the current car.
