Parent's Weekend
 

I was just wondering if any chapters have a parent's weekend and if so what kind of activities take place.

We had a parents' weekend last year and it was so much fun! We rented a pavillion at the lake where we had lunch (a fish fry) and played volleyball (parents against members). We had a few people bring boats so we could ride around on the water (a few people went tubing). The parents really got a kick out of meeting our members and other parents.

We're looking into having a Parent's Weekend this coming semester. I think we're going to try and plan it on a weekend that there isn't a home football game that way we can spend the entire weekend with our families. We also are planning to involve our alumni so our parents can see the wonderful women who have been a part of Sigma Alpha. I don't have any specific details right now but as soon as I do I'll post them.

We have always had a parents weekend where we usually have a BBQ and do other activities that allow everyone to get to know each other. However recently the girls have requested that we have a seperate moms day and a dads day. THis is due to the fact that we have many girls who have divorced parents. This is the first year that we are trying this and we hope it will be a success!
