Greek Week!
 

Otterbein Greek Week is this week! My sorority is doing so well, I'm so proud of our girls.

So far we've gotten...
2nd in Uniforms
2nd in Banner
2nd in Harmony!!!

We've still got Lip Synch on Thursday, and Greek Olympics on Saturday. From the sorority that never places in anything...this is AWESOME !

the uniforms thing was a new thing this year...it was based on our tshirts for greek week. Everyone is supposed to come dressed to the cookout that starts greek week. We did a tshirt of a cat doing the "rosie the riveter" pose with "Sisterhood makes us stronger" written underneath. We all wore red bandanas and jeans just like in the picture.

Banners have to do with the theme of greek week. They're usually a painted bedsheet. The theme is "get your greek on". Ours had all the campus mascots putting on letters, it turned out really cute.

For greek olympics, we're doing volleyball, dodgeball (NOT happy about that one!) soccer, and kickball? or maybe it is jumprope?

PhoenixAzul, congratulations to you and your sisters! Speaking of banners, at Northwestern (in Evanston), Delta Zeta just won their banner contest -- but someone burned the banner down. (The banner carried out the Greek Week theme of Greek unity.) A small pic of their banner and an article about the "uproar" the burning caused are at:

We WON LIP SYNC!!!!! WE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We've NEVER won Lip Sync before...so now we're REALLY in first place.

So I definitely don't agree with the way Greek Olympics was run this year. Instead of giving points to the people who came in First Second and Third overall, they gave points to each event, 5 for 1st, 3 for 2nd and 1 for third. The problem with this? If you can sweep greek olympics, you can win greek week without even showing up to any of the other events. Which is exactly what happened in the fraternity category. In ours...we were 1st going into greek olympics, but we don't have athletes (in the sports we're playing that is). Larger sororities had more athletes so we were screwed. Plus we constantly faced the sorority that was ahead of us in "Random" brackets.... add to this that that sorority is 4 times our size with all athletes... and they had snarky t-shirts. We ended up getting 2nd overall in Greek Week, but no one thought we could do it, so i'm happy. Now we just have to get Chapter of the Year. mwuwuhaha.

The only comment that pissed me off was that I heard one girl from a certain sorority saying "Yeah, we could be in first place too if people felt sorry for us."...It took everything in my body to not deck her...gaaaaaaah!
