Does anyone work at VS? I have a q...
Does anyone here work at Victoria's Secret?? (or are you a VS junkie?)
I'm starting to worry that my fav bra is discontinued since I couldn't find it on the website. It's from the "Body by Victoria" collection, except it has no underwire. It's like a smooth stretchy material, lightly lined and has "normal" straps (not the thick padded ones). Style #: 174290-979 I've seen them in the stores in September-ish... anyone know? |
Try calling their catalogue. Even if it's discontinued, they may have a few left in stock or something.

You are describing my favorite bra too...it's been discontinued...it was called the Body By Victoria Translucent bra...don't ask me why, it's not see through or anything. I was so mad. I loved them. I have a white one and a black one...and that's it. I tried to go in to buy them all out when I found out they were being discontinued, but there were none left in my size.

I second for calling the catalogue--quite often they will have stuff in stock that is not posted on the website--I have on more than one occasion tried to buy something online and been told it was out of stock and then I call the catalogue and sure enough, it is ready to ship.

The translucent line was actually a 'test' bra and didn't run in all the stores (only the Galleria and West County in St. Louis), nor do I believe it was actually ever offered in the catalog. Because the catalog is a different division of the Limited corporation, they do not carry an identical line to the brick-and-mortar stores.
My best recommendation is to have one of the girls in the shop help you find another one that might work. The simpler Angels bras are similar, or possibly the newer BBV demi. |
I'm in the same boat as y'all...VS discontinued the only bra they ever made that actually fit me. It was some sort of demi-cup bra, but it wasn't lacy or anything...I still have one but sadly, it's falling to pieces and I can't find another one like it. *sob* :(

the new ipex bra could work too, but it all depends on the size. its aimed for full figured women (or thats what the lady working there told me) but they only come sizes a-d!! i was all excited when i heard they were for full figured women cause i thought they would come in my size (im not full figured--just happen to have a really big chest). unfortunately that is not the case. if anyone out there knows of a good store to go to for really supportive bras that dont look like something my grandmother would wear, let me know please!!!

Believe it or not, Frederick's of Hollywood has a great selection of pretty bras that offer support for a larger bust. I'd give that a try. |

I sent in a customer service inquiry and they were able to locate the bra! They have it marked down from $34 to $16.99 but only in purple and only in 32AA, 36C and 38 something...
How different is a 36C from a 34C? The 34C fits me pretty well, but I definitely couldn't go any smaller. I don't know if I could go bigger though, as I've never tried on a 36C... can anyone give me advice in that area? Also, there are some satin ones on ebay that look a lot like my bra except the difference in material.. I wonder if those are still in the store. (I tried on the ipex and didn't like it, and I tried on the very sexy no wire and it looked really weird. It even looks weird on the models in the catalog!) |

A 36C is a full cup size bigger than a 34C. Because cup sizes are a ratio, you must go down a cup size if you go up a band size, or vice versa. 34C=36B; 36C=34D. (As far as cup size is concerned) |
