Psychic Reading

Has anyone had a reading done? Was it a load of crap, correct, or just entertaining?
There is a psychic down the street from my office that has a special for $10 (or something cheap like that). So we (friends and I) wouldn't be out a lot of money.
What are your experiences?

I know a few people who are OBSESSED with psychic readings and apparently found a few really good psychics that they really liked and clicked well with. There are so many out there that try to scam you out of your money though that I'd be careful...as soon as they start asking for money to remove curses and all that, run in the other direction.

I say go for it though; if it's only $10, you don't have much to lose and it would probably be an interesting experience nonetheless.

The store front "psychics" are generally charlatans.

I have been to psychics before and have found some that are eerily accurate.

Look for a good metaphysical / newage bookstore near you. They can generally connect you with some that are good, accurate, reasonably priced, etc.

Yep, the one I went to told me someone had put a curse on me, and she could remove it, but it took a special crystal that cost $100 to do the 'removal'.

My friend and I went to one before frosh year of college, and I didn't put any second thought into it. When I was moving last year, I found the paper that I had written all the predictions down on. Kinda scary, but many of them have acually come true. And not the vauge predictions, she gave me some very specific ones.

The same friend wants to "revist" a psychic again, since we are at another crossroad in life or some BS like that. Problem is this time around, I'd rather spend my $20 at the bar.

Okay Wendi-for some reason I am thinking it is that little corner psychic off Raytown Road down by Super Splash. :D
The one that looks like a little Hansel and Gretel house.

I actually haven't been to Super Splash in a couple of years,(fabulous place to take your kids during the summer though if you haven't already) I don't even know if that little psychic is still there.

ETA:I had some friends move from Johnson County to Raymore. They love it because it is so much cheaper. I think that area is going to become the new place to move.

The psychic near my office is on Wornall, in the Waldo area. I might stop in there on Friday--
I am sure my kids would love Super Splash-- I will have to keep that in mind for summer! :)
Raymore is the booming little town-- it is hard to believe that this town is the same little town I grew up in. Houses are cheaper, a little-- you can get the same house in Raymore for about $50,000 less than JoCo--but our taxes aren't cheap and our water...... the average water bill is $85, and I don't water the grass (you can always tell the new people in town--watering for a month- get the bill- and their grass isn't ever green again!)

My mother is really good friends with Lan Vo, a renowned psychic known all around the world. She helped solved many cases locally and around the country.

According to Ms. Vo, true psychics who are blessed with "the gift" do not and SHOULD NOT demand monetary compensation. Many often refuse any kind of compensation. Still, my mother never goes to her house empty handed. Ms. Vo's addicted to my mom's impanadas. Contrary to popular belief, Ms. Vo does not earn a living by using her psychic abilities. She has a regular job just like the rest of us.

Honestly, I wouldn't spend $10 or even a penny to go to a psychic. I know there's the thrill of knowing the future, but do you really want to take that risk? If anything, I think it's more risky than beneficial.

There are books on the tricks these psychics use, but for the life of me, I can only remember one: if you're skeptical, the psychic may ask you to write a word down, and he/she will ask you to pass it, writing down to him/her. When it's passed over a coffee cup (which will conveniently be right there), the psychic will be able to read what you've written in the reflection of the coffee.

whatever you do, don't believe the horoscopes in print publications. my older sister has been looking into freelance writing jobs to beef up her resume, and some random magazine contacted her asking if she wanted to write the horoscopes. she isn't psychic.. and she just majored in journalism. she turned down the offer. :p
