Oh my--I'm getting married!!
 

It's official--I got engaged on Sunday!

He took me on a surprise vacation, supposedly for my birthday, but it was really to propose! He brought me back to Richmond and we stayed in a fancy hotel. A limo picked us up to bring us to dinner--but made a pit stop back on my university's campus. He brought me to the gazebo (where as rumor has it--whoever you kiss there first you will have a long and happy marriage to) and gave me a gorgeous ring!! Then a fancy dinner followed...I still can't believe it!

I have no idea how to post a picture (even though I've been on GC for 5 years!) but here's a link to a ring that is VERY similar to mine. When i eventually take a digital picture, if someone can tell me how to link it, I will. We're thinking of a wedding next summer.

(Mine has a beautiful round stone and the side stones are much bigger than what is shown in the picture. This is the closest to it i could find!)

Funny you'd mention being on GC for 5 years because when I saw your announcement I realized that I'd been reading your posts on here for several years so I kind of felt like, "Geez, I've known her for so long and now she's all grown up and getting married!" LOL!

i don't know how i was so lucky to find him...and he's ALLERGIC to cats but has still agreed to have one when we get married...that's true love:D

thanks to everyone who has replied! i went looking at reception halls today--holy cow are they expensive! hopefully we'll make a decision soon!
