Silly Dream!!

My husband watched/listened to/talked about the NFL draft all day Saturday. That night I had a dream that I went through sorority recruitment at my alma mater, and it was done draft style! It was hilarious! I must admit that I was very excited, and unfortunately, I woke up before I got "drafted."

That's HILARIOUS!

You know, that would probably solve many of our recruitment challenges!

HAHAHA - that sounds like the kind of dream that I would have, football lover that I am.;)

Haha, that's funny! :)

Can you imagine the logistics of a draft-style recruitment, though? You'd have to rank-order the sororities... mmmm, drama :)

I was thinking more along the lines of the sororities choosing--

"In this first round, with the third overall pick.... DEF Sorority selects Mary Smith, a freshman fashion major, quantum physics minor from Galveston. Mary brings academic prowess to DEF with a 3.5 overall GPA, and will no doubt someday chair the chapter's annual fashion show. Mary will help DEF expand their outreach in the community--as she has completed more than 40 hours reading to the blind and saving kittens from trees. XYZ is now on the clock for the next pick."

But how would you decide in which order the sororites picked? There would have to be some kind of order ranking amoung the sororities to decide who picks first ...

Some ideas ...

highest GPA picks first or last
largest membership picks last - smallest membership picks first

Also ... would "trades" of picks be allowed?

IE ... sorority XYZ has the 2nd pick overall and trades that to sorority GHI for 2 later picks??

HEHEHE this is fun to think about ...

That's what I meant by "you'd have to rank order the sororities". In drafts, the lowest-ranked teams have the first picks within each round, and the highest-ranked teams have the last picks in the round. So some committee would have to decide who's the "best" and who's the "worst". What criteria would they use? Who would be on the committee?

This is fun to think about, and it would eliminate some of the headaches of bid matching...

Heather17...I loved your "announcement." That's sort of how it was in my dream. The NM would run up to the sorority, and she was handed a jersey in the sorority colors just like the NFL draftees get.

In my dream, the sororities were randomly ordered, but I don't remember a lot of other details.

I'm glad everyone was amused

reading this thread really made me giggle!

I vaguely remember a post in the Rush forum a LONG time ago, that had a link to an article written by a guy (maybe an IFC guy?) who was trying to figure out NPC rush, and he did make several references to NFL drafting very similar to how Heather17 posted above. The entire article was hilarious!
