Amount of time between the proposal and the wedding

I am curious as to how long of a time there was or will be between when you were engaged to when the wedding is held? Did you have a time limit?

I don't want to be engaged for longer than a year and a half so hopefully we will be married by September next year! :)

I think we waited a little over a year and a half, but my husband and I got engaged when we were still in college and married 3 weeks after we graduated. If we were already out of school, I think we would have done it much sooner. I didn't want to move out of the sorority a semester early and cause them issues in filling my spot by getting married earlier. After all, I had been in charge of housing in the past and knew what a problem it would cause!

We got engaged Nov. 15, 2003 and married on April 2, 2005. So about a year and 5 months. We wanted to try for fall 2004, but neither of us had stable jobs and we wanted to wait a little longer.

We got engaged August 30, 2004 and are getting married August 12, 2005. We have already been together 6.5 years, so we just wanted enough time to plan, and I wanted to get married in late summer.

We got engaged on November 18, 2002 and married on September 13, 2003. And believe me, I needed every day of all those months to plan that damn thing....

We were engaged for about 2.5 years. We were still in college when we got engaged, and we wanted to finish up before getting married.

Clay and I got engaged on August 14, 2004 and we will be married on May 13, 2006. So, over a year and a half. We'd love for it to be sooner, but he graduated in December of 2004 and I won't graduate until April 30, 2006... and I don't want to be stressed out trying to finish school early AND plan a wedding. I'd rather try to enjoy all the good times! =)

I got engaged Sep 4th 2000 and married 12 Oct 2000. Yes it was quick but we were military and he was getting relocated. We had to be married before he left so I could go too.

We were engaged in July 1994 and married July 1995. So just at that year point. It gave us enough time to plan while still working..

Is it awful that i don't remember the exact date of our engagement anymore?? It was 11 years ago!! LOL

We were engaged for a year and a half--- waited until I graduated before we got married.

I have been engaged for ten weeks, and I haven't made any wedding plans yet. I am such a procrastinator. We're hoping for a Spring 2006 wedding. I originally wanted a Christmas wedding, but we need more time to plan.

We got engaged December 16th, 2004 and we're getting married July 8th, 2006.

Peaches-n-Cream, I would suggest you at least book your ceremony and reception sites immediately. On my wedding message boards, girls from all over are already complaining about the best dates being booked up for next spring and summer.

The main problem is we're waiting for a date and permission from our church which is something that we have very little control over. Until then, we really can't plan anything unless we decide not to have a church wedding. Apparently, lots of people want to get married in Manhattan so it is a slow process. Hopefully, we will be able to move forward with plans soon.

What wedding message boards do you frequent? I have only checked out the knot. Not that I want to cyber stalk you, lol. I just would like to see some ideas for weddings.

I like the Knot (mostly the local Detroit board & Advice from Brides) and I also like the Wedding Channel. I've heard a lot of good things about www.UltimateWedding.com but I haven't really checked it out.

Mr. AXiD670 popped the question the end of June 2001, and we were married at the beginning of March 2002. So...nine months.
