Mizzou Homecoming!

So I just read an article about how they've announced our homecoming theme for this fall. ("Let the Good Times Roar" for anyone who's interested... haha.) And the grand marshals are Norm Stewart, former MU basketball coach, and his wife Virginia, former MU Homecoming queen. And what sorority do you think Mrs. Stewart belonged to? Kappa! Jann Carl was also grand marshal a few years ago, and she was a member of Theta chapter here, too. Just thought that was kind of exciting and figured I'd share it!

It's true! I'm so proud of our Theta alums! (Random fact... girls get REAL confused when opening their bid cards at Mizzou, because our Kappa chapter is Theta chapter... so when you're all excited and wrapped up in the moment they think they got Theta and not Kappa... confusing! ):p

As a Theta Chapter alum, I have to say that Homecoming is one of the most exciting times to be Greek at Mizzou. Homecoming was founded at U of Missouri, so we tend to go all out ... Greek Town House Decorations, big parade, the biggest blood drive in the country, and of course football! Virginia Stewart was highlighted during the 2004 Homecoming festivites with several other former Homecoming Queens .... 4 of 5 were Kappas! We had two girls in the Top 15 for Queen competition in 2004 as well and placed second overall in the HC competition ... we do it right at Theta Chapter!

(PS STL Kappa - I had a girl in my pledge class who accidentally went to the Theta house on Bid Day because she was so confused about her bid card. We stopped using those bid invitations during my senior year. Now our bid cards say KKG loud and clear!)
