Great songs from the 70's & 80's

I was just inspired by AI4 in which the contestants sang songs from the year they were born (all in the 70's and 80's) so I thought it might be fun to list some of our faves.

Love is a Battlefield by Pat Benatar

Dancing Queen by ABBA (my dad HATES this song while my mom and I LOVE it)

My Sharona

Totally doesn't matter to me, I just only thought of two right now. I didn't want to list all my faves otherwise the thread would be over rather quickly.

I love the song My Sharona, I did a cheer dance to it. LOL.

OMG I love that song!!!!!

I love the song Heaven is a Place on Earth. I couldn't tell you who sings it, but I love it. I'm a total child of the 80's so I need to think back on my "faves". LOL

Belinda Carlise sings the Heaven song.
I used to have it on one of those really small records and would play it on my Fisher Price record player, all dressed up in "dress-up" clothes, and dance around my family room. (Yes, I am a child of the '80's!)

Favorite Song:
I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) by the Proclaimers, originally released in 1988.

The "classic" Bon Jovi:
-Livin on a Prayer
-You give love a bad name

And then:
-Disco Inferno
-Most stuff by Earth Wind and Fire
-Love Shack

Madonna:
-Like a Virgin
-Material Girl
-Celebrate

That is basically my "work music" CD right there :)

Pat will be on tour this summer, and still sounds GREAT! And as a side note, her husband Neil Giraldo, scored the upcoming movie "Smile"

One of my great memories from the 80's is being on a yacht on East River, listening to Pat Benatar playing live from the pier! :) Good times.

Hungry Like the Wolf is a personal fave!

ASUADPi-If you like Abba, and you haven't seen "Mamma Mia!" you MUST go!!! You'll be dancing in the aisles to almost every Abba song ever written, and the finale is, of course-"Dancing Queen!!!"

As to the songs, Lord, girls I was raising two small kids in the 80, but-don't laugh- I love the song by George Michael, "Careless Whisper."
