International Volunteer Day

I didnt know until today that Kappa Alpha Theta has an International Volunteer Day, April 19th.

Since i became a Permanent Alumnae Secretary I guess that makes me a volunteer.

Today in teh mail I got a cool little note, a cool pen with a shooting star, a magnetic notepad, a magnetic clip, and a cool blue and gold bag that says "Theta Volunteers Inspire by Example."

I sure wasnt expecting anything(other than the Spring Issue of Kappa Alpha Theta Magazine) and it has made my day! It was so cool I wanted to share it :)

I was always pleasantly surprised by the annual volunteer "giftie" from HQ each spring. Nothing beats a surprise in the mail!

I got one, too! My daughter immediatly laid claim to the tote bag (what can I say? she's four ...), but I'll smile every time I put my grocery list on the note pad. :)

I've decided to give my totebag to my soon to be step-daughter(and hopefully future Theta) Kelsy in an effort to further promote Thetahood. This also allows me to give her something Theta without our beautiful letters on it. :)

Speaking of volunteering............


I've once again volunteered myself for Theta. I'm now a member of the Facility Corp. Board for our Gamma Iota chapter at UK! I talked to the chair today and she is so nice and so excited which got me excited. I'm looking forward to my first meeting in the UK Theta house next week. My chapter did not have a house so this is exciting new territory for me :)
