University of Miami

Anybody know what is going on with our chapter at University of Miami. Pike was just placed on a 30 day suspension by their nationals and also on school probation. Now our chapter AT UMIAMI is under investigation by our nationals, for what? I guess nobody knows yet and it might be a good thing they are keeping it quiet but I hate how articles are submitted without any details and info.

The president of IFC at UMiami, is a Lambda Chi, they won Greek Week last year, have a large active membership, and have very good grades. It is going to be interesting what this chapter is doing wrong. I am guessing it has something to do with hazing, or risk management issues such as alcohol., doesn't everything these days?

Overall, we have great chapters in Florida, definitely the strongest out of any state for our fraternity, it is the same way for Pike. Most Florida schools, Pike and Lambda Chi Alpha are the top 2, as I have been repeatedly told. I had no clue that Miami was this strong, pretty sad to find out about a fraternity when they are under investigation for something, but I guess that is common today. Anyway, if anyone has info on this please post it.

Like I said in another post, watching the nonsens with my chapter (getting a 2 year suspension for a BYOB registered dance party which had 2 whole cases of beer at it) there is definitely a witch hunt on that compared to when I was in school 93-97 makes no sense at all.

My shot in the dark is that the UM chapter did something that probably is not that big of a deal, but the PC crowd at the University will go after them for it.

We'll see
