Greek Stores In Las Vegas?
Hi everyone,
Is anyone familiar with the Las Vegas area? Specifically, I'd like to know if there are any Greek stores in town. My hubby and I are heading out there next month and I just thought I'd check. Thanks! d:cool: |
I am wondering if there is one near UNLV, which is not too far from the airport...

uconn- yeah its pretty much the only place here to get greek stuff, but Jack does a really nice job on everything and anything. and its usually done in like a timely fashion too, so if you were lookin to find something while on vacay- im sure he'd have it done before you left.
and like sigkapqueen said, one of our sisters pretty much runs the place ;) shes been workin there for as long as ive been in vegas...... :) JILL!-- i cant believe its takin sueali this long to post ... she must be at a baseball game screaming obscenities, OR SOMETHING... ;) |
I'm so sorry I missed the posting. Sigkapbling I thought you got lost in death valley, and yes I was at baseball and of course I was screaming obscenities because we lost the series to BYU.

There is no housing on campus. As far as I know Sigma Chi has a house and TKE has a house on a street near campus. If there is a LXA house I'm not sure where it is located. (however I am an alumna so I may be out of the loop)

Unfortunately, we don't have a house, but the majority of the fraternities and all sororities do not have houses. Mandy has big plans for Greek Life though, so who knows..

I was thinking "she is so fired!" I guess she heard us yelling :)

It's not even that, we first have to focus on more important issues at the moment. Housing isn't important, moreso improving the integrity of the IFC/NPC and increasing Greek life on campus through collaboration with other organizations.
Just came back from a UNLV leadership retreat where there were representatives from different organizations and it was a pretty successful retreat. Now we have to fight the natural inertia we seem to have a problem with. Mandy isn't the only one "to get it done" either, haha. Mandy is the advisor and facilitator if you will. Natural conservatism prevents people in acting for change. If we actually worked on what we've discussed, that'll be the best bet. We need leaders in Greek Life in UNLV. We can make thousands of plans but the only reason plans do not come into play is because of the lack of leadership. And people who hold positions aren't necessary leaders and you don't have to hold position to be a leader. Let's get it going, good GOD! :D Jeff |
I understand what you are saying about Mandy as the facilitator as Pete Glass was also the facilitator when we hired and architect and had the plans drawn up for a greek dorm, or when we were allotted money for a greek dorm the first time but couldn't get it together to use it. I'm not sure how long you have been on campus but you are an associate member so I assumed (which I could have assumed wrong) you were a freshmen. I was just trying to give you a historic background to the greek housing issue. I may be an alumna as I said earlier and out of the loop on unofficial housing (not university supported) but I am not out of the loop when it comes to greek life at UNLV as I am an advisor of my chapter and also work on campus. It's so good to hear that the leadership retreat went well, and I agree we need to strengthen the whole greek community, I have seen the UNLV greek community through many ups and downs, with the addition of new chapters AxiD and Kappa Sigma and the loss of others.
