I read about that. I'm glad to see there's an awareness that kids need to learn healthy eating habits, but we can't be all no-nonsense about it. One cookie never hurt anybody...I think maybe they should have Cookie Monster go outside and play ball so he can burn off all those cookie-calories instead of having him munching carrots. Poor kids...

yeah they talked about that on "ryan on-air" either yesterday or today (can't remember) they interviewed grover about it! haha! :D

If there's any lifestyle that needs to be changed on Sesame Street, it's Oscar the Grouch's. He lives in a garbage can! The germs, oh the germs!

And the Count with his OCD. Get ye to a doctor for some Luvox!

I guess he needs to set an example to kids today since their fucking parents aren't teaching them how to eat healthy or in moderation or appropriate portion sizes.

eta: what next? Elmo on Ritalin? Prairie Dawn has an eating disorder? Zoe gets molested?

And don't forget that Snufflupagous (sp?) is going to have to start rehab for that massive pot habit of his.

I'd rather "ruin" the Cookie Monster if it means that even one child can be saved from diabetes.

OH PLEASE!!

If the kid's parents don't teach him not to eat like the Cookie Monster (or if the kid as he gets older can't figure it out himself) I would say diabetes is the least of his worries.

The Cookie Monster isn't responsible for childhood obesity. It's the idiot parents that shove french fries in their kids' faces and overstimulate their brains with video games and TV... and then wonder why the little fatso doesn't want to get off the couch to play outside.

(That's when the parents sue Sesame Street for making their kid fat)

Didn't they try and make Cookie Monster eat carrots like 15 years ago or do I need to lay off the crack.

I swear they did and he hated them or he could have his cookies after he ate his carrots. I remember it!

I remember being 5 or so and seeing Cookie eat non-cookies. What Cookie Monster really needs are lessons in table manners.

Since when does eating cookies cause diabetes?

Obesity can be a cause of adult onset diabetes, but eating certain foods isn't.

And what about Pig Pen from the Peanuts cartoons? And Snoopy! All that root beer! TEH HORROR!

Don't forget Woodstock needs to lay off the booze. He's been in too many flying accidents.

Small sidenote: There has been an increase in overweight children getting Type 2 diabetes. (Not necessarily called Adult Onset anymore.) BUT it's not as common as older adults by far. But it still happens sometimes.
