Wedding ??
I'm trying to figure out a way to include all my wonderful sisters in my upcoming wedding and was wondering if it would be ok to sing the Circle Song. I was thinking that it would be a nice touch before the cake cutting to have alll my sisters sing that with me. I'm also going to ask that they all wear black (to look uniform), and I'm going to have little corsages for everyone too- yellow mum's with green ribbon of course!
Any input on if it's ok to do this, or other ideas about how to include the sisterhood in my big day would be greatly appreciated! Much love! *b |
I think Sigma Alpha should come up with a wedding tradition. Last year several sisters of the Gamma chapter were married. I wrote a poem that the sisters presented to the bride and groom. I could email it to you if you would like.

I'd absolutly love to have the poem! I totally agree that SA should have a wedding tradition. I have a cousin that was in a Sorority at another University, and at her wedding all of her sisters gave a flower to the groom and welcomed him to the "family" before singing this sweet little song!
We're planning on having the sorority sisters present wear black, which we will have a small note ncluded in their invitation askign them to do this, and presenting them with a small corsage made out of yellow mums and having yellow and green ribbon with it (the secret's out to all the ATs that read this post *wink*). Then, at the reception, prior to the cake cutting, I want everyone to get together and sing the Circle Song (I've been told that since it's a real song we can sing it). And, now I'm thinking about having the sorority sister that's responsbile for making sure everyone gets there coursage (I ran out of room for bridesmaids, but had one more super special friend) read the poem you wrote! Thanks for your help- If I ever recover from the apendectomy I had last week, I can get back to planning the wedding! ps- my e-mail is beth.pugh@gmail.com |

Wedding Blessing
Families hold a special place in our hearts. We began as strangers who had different starts; We joined a circle, and soon became a friend. Fortunately our roads met at the same bend. Friendships ran deeper, and love did grow; The next step was sisterhood, the seeds we did sow. We’ll be sisters for life, as long as I’m concerned. Even though your life makes another turn; You found that special someone to share your life forever. As long as you live you will be alone never. You’ll build a new family, you and your husband; Your sisters are proud to watch him take your hand. Sigma Alpha Gamma Chapter |
At Alpha our wedding tradition is to sing "She Wears an S"
