Been Skydiving???

Hey ya'll! So my friends are trying to convince me to go sky diving with them next weekend, and although I am adventurous (a teeny scared of heights), I am a little nervous about it. I've have always wanted to do it, but never had the opportunity and I am afraid if I pass up this opportunity, it won't come around again. If I am going to go, now is the time. What do ya'll think? Tell me some of your first hand experiences or advice to help me make my decision. (AND I'll stick to it!)

i'm really scared of heights, but I love rollercoasters and want to go skydiving one day. if there wasa bunch of friends who were going to do it, i would go ahead and go with them. who knows when other people will want to do it.

I have always wanted to go skydiving, I just don't want to go alone. My friends won't go, so I would say if you have a chance to go with friends, then go for it!
Are you tandem or static line jumping?

One of my sisters just went on her 75th jump. She's gotten a bunch of certifications to be able to jump in certain areas, so she's living proof that it's pretty safe.

I'm pretty sure that your first time will be a tandem jump, where you're actually strapped to the instructor. The second jump, the tandem is optional.

I went bungee jumping once to overcome my fear of heights. I really did it b/c I wanted to go skydiving but thought I should maybe take baby steps in getting there.

Needless to say it completely backfired, I passed out after I jumped off the platform, and I only jumped b/c I was literally forced to. I have a picture of me after they lowered me to the ground, I'm as white as a ghost and look dead. And now I am more afraid of heights than ever.

Skydiving does not sound like a good time to me anymore. If you do end up doing it though, good luck! I hope it helps you overcome your fear better than my attempt did. ;)
