April 5, 2005, 08:50 AM

Some U of E students had their share of 'ups and downs' this weekend, but they endured them for a good cause.

Members of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity took turns riding a giant wooden teeter-totter, non-stop for over 48 hours. The fraternity chose the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society because helps fund blood-related cancer research.

Vice President Derek Zehr says, "Without Sororities and Fraternities, I believe that these organizations - I just think that they rely on our help, and it's a great thing to do - to help these organizations out, like the Leukemia Lymphoma Society."

So far the event has brought in over $1500. USI students hold a similar annual event each year, often to raise money for an young ailing patient.
