I Made It, Now I Am Alumni
WOW JUST PAID MY LAST UNDERGRADUATE BILL, 4 YEARS AT UT HAS BEEN REALLY HARD. The first two years were hard waking up with hangovers all the time and the last two were spent in the library every waking hour. I am graduating with honors and going home to help the Gamma Nu chapter at UNC in Chapel Hill this summer.
My fraternity experience as an undergrad has been great, I have learned tremendous leadership experience and had many great memories with my brothers and loved every minute of it. Half the time I spent here was on probation which made it a lot harder but we have been off for the past year and we are trying to get back to the notorious chapter we once were. Slowly but surely it is coming. Next fall we will be over 100 brothers again, but like I have always said its QUALITY over QUANTITY. Anyway I look forward to being an alumni and have treasured my undergraduate years. |
Welcome to the club! Now you get to complain and gripe with the rest of us old farts and dream about the good ol' days! (Although I'm only 24).
|
Congrats!

I'll be there April 30th. Not much time left. Perhaps if I got to Samford or FSU I will be involved with their chapter.

Ryan, Congratualtions on Graduation and becoming an Alum! http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili.../xyxthumbs.gif
Now guess what? If you are not going to Grad School, You will end up like some of the Old Farts on Site, and Yes, I am The Head One!:D |
Hey Tom, just because I'm in grad school doesn't mean I can be an old fart!?!?! OH MAN!
And Chip, WTF is that thing! LOL! :D As comic book guy from the Simpsons would say : "Worst....animated .gif.....ever." |
Those are conga-rats. Congrats, get it? lol

Ryan400z,
Congratulations! However, now comes the hard part. Remember the Ritual, remember your obligations, and find a way to stay involved. Whether it is as a donor to the Educational Foundation, a House Corporation officer, a High Pi, a Joseph T. Charles Mentor, or an Alumni Advisory Board member, find a way to give back. Lastly, I would encourage you (and any other college seniors, as opposed to "old fart" seniors) to write down 3-5 things you wish the alumni of your Chapter had done while you were an undergraduate. Keep that list and look at it in 5 years. Then ask yourself if you have done those things that you hoped others had done. in ZAX, Eric |
Sure, you could do what Eric suggested and take the easy way out, or you could do the right thing: Go up to visit every 2nd weekend, get piss drunk and hit on girls at LEAST 5 years younger than you. That's what being an alumni is all about. :D
