Sigma Iota - University of Toronto
I know I haven't had exactly perfect dealings with the members of this forum.... but I have a serious question:
Is the Sigma Iota Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha no more? >>> Tonight I stopped by my chapter, in order to help my lil' update a personal manual for the next president of the chapter (advice, contact info, alumni experts, etc). When I got to going over the contact info with him I noticed that Alpha Phi Alpha had a line through it - the actives are under the impression that the Sigma Iota chapter isn't active any more at UofT... I tried to contact the brothers of Alpha Phi Alpha, but the website (and the email contact list on it) is gone... and all their emails assocaited with the website bounce back. |
So nobody in the forum has heard anything?
I've tried to find out what I can - but with everything having to be communiticated by "word of mouth" on campus (no IFC, Greek Advisor, or other "official" greek office) it has so far proven impossible to confirm or refute the closing of the UofT chapter... I'd hate to see them go - as any GLO leaving the community weakens our presence on a "un-friendly" campus... |
RA Cooper,
As I understand it, are you an Alumni greek advisor? If so, you may need to make a phone call to the national organization... And persistence is an asset... That is all I can say about the matter... |

I have gone onto the regional website - but that site has always listed the active members as '0' since the inception of the chapter... Maybe I'll get someone from the CIFC to make an "official" enquiry - if only to update the records on their website, and their info for conferences... |
