Organizations in two councils
 

I have a question:

How is it that Iota Phi Theta and Kappa Alpha Psi are in both Men's NPHC and NIC?

I thought that was kind of interesting that they are in both of the councils. If anyone know the answer to this question please reply.

From the NIC perspective, any inter/national fraternity may petition the NIC for membership. Once the fraternity meets the criteria for membership, it may be voted into the NIC.

In addition to Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc. and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. having duel membership in NIC and NPHC, these four NIC members are also members of the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations. (NALFO)

Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Inc.
Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc.
Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc.
