what is a ceylon?

according to google it's a place in Sri Lanka???:confused:

I thought Ceylon was the old name of Sri Lanka...

Like Siam = Thailand and Burma=Myanmar...

It is also the name of a tea imported from Sri Lanka.

But I figured the poster was asking about the term ceylon relative to something having to do with Greek Life. :confused:
