Get in The Corner!!!

RUDEY....get in the corner. You know why.

I'm just learning new things every day. Today I learned that a fraternity named I Felta Thigh made the NPHC and BGLOs look "spectacular." But I question that because I think they changed their name before they joined the NPHC so I'm not so sure if that person is right.

I don't know all the answers, but the great thing about Greekchat is sharing information and learning about each others' history.

There is never a bad time to quote Dirty Dancing.

Stewie Griffin: [hitting on some co-eds] I must say, the most recent campus
sporting event was quite spectacular.
Co-ed: Aw. Are you in a fraternity, little boy?
Stewie Griffin: Not yet, but I'm thinking of joining I Felta Thigh.

But Iota Phi Theta, the BGLO, used to have that name as well.

I did a search on the internet and now there is another fraternity that uses that name. They are the Rocky Horror Picture Show fraternity. Here is their website http://www.ddfraternity.iwarp.com/about.html

There was also this website http://junkbrosnews.com/ifeltathigh.htm

I was wondering since a BGLO was founded as I Felta Thigh, were any sororities founded as I Eta Pi?

I don't know what that means really, but I'm just really happy we weren't founded as I Felta Thigh because then I would have had to use one of the pictures above as our seal or something.

The guy on this website or the one from the movie? The one from the movie is so amazing...I wish I could have taken him to Vegas last week with me. I'm OK with counting single deck blackjack but pushing that it's too hard to keep track. Rain man would have won me some money!

If you can count single-deck, double-deck counting methods aren't too much different - don't play 2x deck unless it's 5:2 BJ though, the 6:5 ruins your edge unless you can vary your bets immensely (think $5 min/$500 max).

In Vegas, you should ALWAYS be playing BlackJack Switch (obviously doing it 2-handed, with the swap) - it's a better-than-breakeven game, even with simple strategy . . . house 'edge' is (-2.5%).

No need for Rain Man, when you have the wizards

Most places I saw shoot past the single deck to 5 or 8. It's difficult enough finding a single deck table.

And I rarely go from $5 to 500 because I don't have the stomach for that. I'm not like one of those old Chinese guys in Vegas with a gambling problem...well maybe but not really.

yeah, the only way to beat those games is to absolutely pound the felt when the deck is favorable, although that's the easiest way to get marked a counter and politely comped a dinner at a restaurant away from the hotel, for good. The variance is awful, though - it's truly a long-run plan, a la the famed MIT Blackjack Team (who had a 7-figure bankroll and 10-15 players to get the number of hands high enough).

If you're playing low or moderate and want to keep the variance low, BJ Switch is by far the best option.

Serious question. What is Blackjack Switch? How does it differ from regular Blackjack? I was gambling over spring break(not in Vegas, but in a place with casinos) and I don't remember seeing that. The only variation of BJ I saw were the tables that had an optional bet for 3 card poker.
