A kinda embarrassing question
this is kinda an embarrassing question, but here it is...im going to be a pledge for FIJI this upcoming quarter at my school, im a minority, are there other major minorities in fiji...this has no bearing on what i do, i am just curious if there are other minority fiji's out there (namely african americans)...i would feel weird being the only one....please IM me at osutennisguy04 or email me at clark.1168@osu.edu
thanks for the help, im new here |
Hi Joey!
Welcome to Phi Gamma Delta- you have made an excellent choice. Although there may not be a lot of minority members in your particular chapter, I think that you will find the fraternity to be a pretty diverse bunch globally. If you get a chance to visit other FIJI chapters in your area or go to a national gathering, you will see what I mean. When I was an undergraduate, I was proud to be a part of an incredibly diverse chapter- we had and African American and several others with asian and American Indian backgrounds, as well as international students from China, Britain, Mexico, Indonesia, and several other countries. One of our chapter presidents was from India! Fraternally Paul "mcellpe" |

The best choice I ever made
Hey Joey,
I'm happy to hear FIJI is your fraternity of choice. Trust me, it's the best choice I have made during my college years. My chapter (Ball State) currently has a Venezuelan, but in the past have had hispanics and some very interested African Americans. We would really like to get a more culturally diverse group. I also know Wabash has a couple African Americans, and I am positive many other chapters have a diverse group as well. Welcome to Phi Gamma Delta! Mike |
Welcome to Phi Gamma Delta! Glad to see some support from some other Brothers out there!

FIJIs @ FIU
I have seen FIJIs @ Florida International University that are Black. Most of the greek chapters are hispanic as it is a dominant ethnicity in FL, so you are not alone. I may be in the same situation next year when I rush but I will not mind one bit! Brothers are brothers and sisters are sisters!

It's great to hear you have decided to pledge FIJI. I am the PL (grad brother advisor) for the nusigma chapter at NC State. Our outgoing president is African American I am sure that he would have no problem talking to you over IM or phone. I have emailed your information to him and he will probably be getting in contact with you soon. Again congrats!
