Question about charters...
 

When does a chapter gets its charter? Is it when its colonized or when its installed? I was reading the ADPi history on the website and it said that in 1911 the mascot on the charter was changed from a dragon to a unicorn and that in 1912 Upsilon chapter was installed. The thing is, Upsilon's charter has a dragon, so now I am all confused!!

Hmm I was always under the impression you got your charter when you were installed. At least thats how it worked when the DTDs came back to allegheny. I was dating one of their founding fathers and they were all pledges until they were initiated. At which point they switched from a colony to a chapter and at their initiation banquet their EO came and presented them with their charter. Maybe the time between when EO decided and Upsilon was installed wasnt that extensive and they didnt have time to make new charters? :confused:

What month was your chapter installed? Maybe the Charter was pre-made, and something (like the rock!) held up the Installation?

I believe Upsilon was installed in November, though I could be mistaken. I really don't think it matters too much, but I just found it interesting. Oh, and it couldn't have been the rock, because the chapter didn't move down to that house until the 50s :)

Grand Council presented our charter at the Initiation Banquet.

*I never knew about the change of mascots on the charter.... You learn something new everyday. :)
